We are proud to announce that the Big Lottery Fund Women and Girls Initiative have awarded POW with over half a million pounds!
With this new support, the largest amount we have ever received, POW can promise to continue to to provide our current services for a further five years as well as two brand new service strands.
The journey so far….
In June last year over a 1000 calls were made to the fund, however by October POW was one of only 2 organisations in Nottingham who were invited to submit an application. Then in November we received development funding in order to carry out research for our proposals and by January our application was completed and submitted.
We are one of 63 organisations from over a 1000 applications that were a successful and we are hugely thankful for the support and faith shown in the services that we will continue to provide.
We are committed to making a difference to the lives of women and girls in Nottingham and with this new support, the largest amount we have ever received, we can. We will be using the funding to develop two new exciting service strands; MWAH and RAISE.
MWAH, Migrant Workers Help and Advice, initiative we will be working in partnership with Nottingham Women’s Centre and Nottingham Law Centre to support the rights of migrant sex workers. RAiSE, Raising Awareness in Sexual Exploitation, initiative will be a programme working with young people at risk of child sexual exploitation.
A huge thank you to the Big Lottery Fund!
